i've been reading the thread for refugium tips (which was very good, lots of info) and i'm not so sure i have my system plumbed correctly. right now i have my display tank 180 gal draining 100% into refugium. a kind of a flow through set up 90 gal AGA one end drilled with interal overflow incoming water at other end. draining from there to the first compartment in the sump the skimmer is attached there second compartment has skimmer return then 4 baffles down up down up. last compartment has float switch for ATO of kalkwasser and return pumps to display, 2 pumps totalling 3600gph 1800 each.
my question is should i replumb so that the display tank water goes to sump first and set like a mag 18 in the second compartment to feed refugium but which compartment to drain refugium to? back to the second or to the first?

sorry, the refug is a seperate 90 gal and the sump is below it and it's usually got about 50 gal in it.

no need for another pump. run the drain line directly to the sump, but install a tee and ball valve above the refuge and run it into the refuge. that way you can adjust the flow going into the refuge by opening or closing the ball valve.

Coultn't have said it any better myself ALTI. Great Input!!! I would definately recommend doing this. Your tank will benefit!!
