Pocillopora plague

I know this sounds nuts, but I have a Pocillopora outbreak. This stuff is taking over my display. It spawned in my tank about 5 months ago and is everywhere, on the glass, growing inside other acro's, all over the rock. 150 different colonies is being VERY modest to say the least. Anyone else ever had this "problem" It happened at my Ironton shop last year and was growing all over the grating, glass, pvc piping..........borderline aptasia. Coralreefer has seen it, she can vouch, Plague I tell ya!

Hey if they are that much of a nuisance(sp?) you can always send us some over here in Nitro. I am sure I am not the only club member that would be willing to take some of them off your Hands(tank) for you.

I have at least one colony in my tank that is a naturally propagated Pocillopora damicornis.

Check this one out. Total self generation here. I did not glue anything at all to this fitting. It is one of my CL outlets near the top of the tank.

I think it may be a Pocilapora. I know it is a little small, but what say you? Growth form is 110% natural.

It looks like they could become a problem.

I have a few that have settled on some of the bases on my broodstock in my raceways. They can eventually cause recession if they anchor too close to another more sensitive coral.

Why can't we have this problem with a nice blue tort or something?

Thats just it, it is growing inside other acro's and causing recession unless I remove it, into cap's, on one of my clams, all over my rock, power heads...............................it was really cool at first, kinda like the first majano I saw in my tank years ago!

:(

It's very cool but definitely a plague. He's not kidding this stuff has spread from one end of the tank to the other
Steve I'd bet your pocci came from the same mother colony.
