i have a tunze 6100 on the tunze wave controler . it is set at 50% power. in my 30 gal SPS only Tank .. is this to much flow ??????

Perhaps it's just me, but I think a 6100 is too much for a 30g tank. Even at 50% strength you're still doing about 50x turn over. If you have sand I can see a sandstorm :D

I have sand in my 58 and I use a multicontroller and 2x6000s great flow. A 6100 at 50% gives about 1400gph so its good if its not omnidirectional.

as long as it's not aimed directly at anything I think you're fine. your corals will let you know if there is too much flow.

I agree, probably fine. i have close to 70x in my mixed 75 (others have even more)

Is the tunze the same size as the tank???? wow......i thought the 6000 on full blast in a 55g with a large return and a maxi jet was killing it....get her done...let the corals response tell you what to do...

If their flesh gets ripped off it's too much flow.

But seriously, if there's too much flow they'll show poor polyp extension and just not look well I guess.

In my 75 G BB I have: 2x SEIO 820, 2x Seio 620, 2x Tunze 6100, and a CL with two penductors run by a Mak 4, as well as my Mag 7 return pump. I never figured out how much GPH in my tank, but, I know it's a lot!

simple addition, add up the flow from each source, that will give you total flow.
