If you're going with a corrugated hose, pick up sump hose from a hardware store instead. It'll be closer to the diameter you want, and will have smooth ends for clamps. If you try to cut the cuffs off pool hose and clamp directly over the corrugated hose, it will never seal for a pressure line.
Something like this should work okay, but double clamp for sure.

Why not use braided vinyl hose that any hardware store carries? It's what I use but in 1/2" diameter.

1.79$ might get a little pricey depending on how long you need it.
How long of a run are you talking about and what sort of volume are you dumping and filling? Even inch and a quarter hose is going to hold a lot of water when you turn off the pump. Depending on the length of run, you could be rolling up a hose with a couple of gallons of water still in it. Reducing the pvc shouldn't be an issue for the pump at all. But would mean your water changes would take more time.

1" just for water changes? Are you trying to set a new speed record
"Hey.. give me a hand.. Its time to do a water change"
