possible ich

Okay so I went to the LFS and picked up a clown and when I brought it home and put it in the tank I noticed a white spot. First thought was ich. I did a freshwater dip and nothing happened. The next day it was gone. Do you think I should medicate my display tank just incase? I bought a reef safe ich medication. Thoughts? Thanks for your input in advance guys.
