possibly a kenya tree?

Wondering if anyone can help me identify the coral I have recieved yesterday. I think one may be a kenya tree. They are all in medium flow on the upper part of the lower tank if that makes sense.

I agree. They spread fast like a weed breaking off little pieces that will grow on their own.

Cool, I found a couple pieces of my kenya tree in the tank the other day.
Wasn't sure if it was in trouble and falling apart.
Now I know it's just reproducing.
I have another kenya tree (at least I think it is) that drops obvious little babies.
Wasn't sure about the "pieces" from the other one.
Thanks.

looks like one to me. my kenya tree got sucked into the powerhead while I was cleaning.. now i have hundreds of kenya trees popping out everywhere

I believe if you rub the "trunk" of a Kenya tree coral it feels rough and scratchy sort of like fine sand paper. If it is slippery it is probably something else. Not sure if Kenya is the only scratchy one though. Under intense lights they stay more compact and are darker colored but stretch out when light is lower.

Yes it's a Kenya tree, I bought one years ago, if you lived near me I would have given u mine, I took it out of my display tank about 6 months ago and I'm still removing the little frags off my live rock, they keep springing up, I can't even give it to my lfs no one wants them, I have it in my frag tank now. Didn't want to kill it. When it's fully extended it's the size of a cantaloupe.

thats a kenya tree that isnt fully awake yet. If u move it to a low flow area you'll see it expand. And yes MBK was correct the stalk feels like fine grit sandpaper

How soon after moving them to a new tank do they typically start dropping frags? I've had mine for four months, and its ballooned out, but not spread to different areas.

I got mine as a tiny frag, about as big as my pinky fingernail (that round).
Now it's the size of a grapefruit.
Took about a year to get that size, been dropping babies for a couple months.

often times they will shrink up for a day or two even when the light is on, the next day they will open up big and start to drop a few limbs.
