Hey everyone,

At the last meeting we discusses our new website. We now need some content! Please post your ideas, articles, links, pictures , etc. here and I will make sure that they get to Chris, or you can e-mail him directly at: chris@publicpersuasions.com so the he can include them on the site.

I think it would be cool to have a section for member's tanks, livestock and equipment listings including pics. We should take a new group pic as well. An events section for sure. How about a cool flash animation intro?

An articles or ideas page would be nice. Maybe member created articles or diy's. We probably don't have enough content to have individual pages, maybe just a "members contribution/writings" page.

A members section, to list a picture / listing of their tank and maybe add a link to their website if they have one, plus RC name.

Maybe we can look at other societies pages to see if we are missing anything?

I would like to see some links to other sites, both commercial & social. (not that there is anything bad about this site). Also maybe an area for members to log in and get personal info like names, addresses, phone numbers of other members. Would be nice to be able to contact, but dont want it out there for the whole world to see.

Store listings and addy's with phone numbers, not a review of them but just all the known saltwater stores, that way if people are visiting other parts of the state they can have a gander!

We could have like monthly articles, on how to build a tank on a budget, how to best make a skimmer, sump or whatever...

Again, good ideas, but we need the actual content......links, store addresses and such. This will help us out a lot.

I would say we need a LFS list on the site.

I agree with Craig that an info page with peoples Name, number, email would be nice, but make it so have to log in or something. On members list maybe group everyone according to area. Ex. CF area, IA City, etc... That way it's easier keeping track of who is where.

Next to ther persons name maybe have a Full tank shot of each persons tank(s)

Upcoming Event list, for speakers maybe have a short writeup of their experiences, or a link for more info on them.

I think someone mentioned having a tank of the quarter. That will be much easier than every month.

How about a library list. A list of what videos and books the club has and maybe who has them checked out.

I can't remember what else we all talked about?

I think that if you list stores on there than you should also have a star system or something like that. that way they cant get bashed and you dont need to waste your time on the not so great ones. You can have diff. classes such as price, live stock, equip,and so on... And all the better for us if the (THE STORES) see what we or you have done maby some of the shady ones might clean up there act? any way I hope that might help as a idea that could be a basic format for most all topics and save you time. we all need more of it, but it could be posted out as a poll the higher the percent the more stars. well good luck!

Being someone who is interested in joining, you should not only tell people how much it costs to join, but also where all of the meetings occur and what time and date. I found it difficult to find this on the website so I ask here. I don't know if you guys have weekly meetings or just get together for special events.

I got another idea! How about a section for GIRS merchandise?!!? We could sell shirts, hats, stickers, you know cool stuff like that to raise $$$ for the club. I got a guy here in town that used to do our merch for my old band, i think shirts cost like 5 bucks to print.

Is there any interest in GIRS merch? I know ide like a shirt and some stickers, maybe a hat.

What about a general for sale area? People selling old equipment, corals, fish, etc...

Great ideas everyone. I have added the content I have received and have forwarded it to Pygmey and Bullet Bob for review. I have only received two tank shots, so please send them to chris@publicpersuasions.com

I am working on the fish store list and a possible map today. The strange thing is, I entered my zip code on the map finder and it displayed Pennsylvania!

Thanks for the contributions, but we need much more. Articles, links, photos, how to's and whatever else anyone would want to contribute.
