Hello,
THought i would share the wealth of my situations difficulty as i go along. I have two baby black false clows, who have been in my month old tank for 3 days. Well one decided to ride the overflow down into the skimmer, and just found him after a day of fun in the sump. When i plopped him back in where he belonged, i noticed a few small white spots that looked like ich i recognized in many freshwater fish before. Also there is a larger, pea sized white area on the tail. I attempted to get a good picture but no go.
Did a little research, and since i didnt have a QT tank, i started some of the possible treatment dips.
1) I treated for Non-brooklynella infecions first, with a 10 minute freshwater dip (RO/DI at tank temp with tank pH and powerhead)

2) put him back in tank to rest for about an hour

3) Took BOTH clowns and did a preventative/remedy dip of Rid-Ich+(15mL/L formalin and small amount of malachite blue) in tank water with powerhead. Made sure to transfer to clean tankwater container first before putting back into tank.

4) added both fish back into tank with the lights off for the night.

Even after the whole Overflow express, neither of these fish were showing signs of stress, and neither showed any signs of infection 2 days ago, and only one is showing now, so i think i cought it early enough to properly treat the infection. I will repeat the RID-ICH+ bath tomorrow evening if i see more signs of infection.

Let me know if you have any advice for me along the way!

My baby clowns Zerg and Egon
