Powder Brown Pictures

I was looking for a powder brown several months ago and ended up taking home a powder blue. (Don't regret that decision at all, the PBT is an awesome fish)

I saw this one floating in a bag before being released into the petri dish known as a Petco tank. Glad I got there when I did, just getting released into a Petco tank could be a death sentence for this type of fish.

Maybe 3.5 inches, exploring the tank and picking rock. Doesn't yet understand the concept of a nori clip, but ate some frozen a couple hours after acclimation. Doesn't appear stressed at all.

I've never seen an acanthurus tang look this good at a lfs. Nice and thick, my powder blue looked really skinny by comparison.

I have one of these guys sitting in QT atm, he was also really fat and I think is one of the better looking tangs, better than the powder blue for sure.

Now that the fish has settled into it's surroundings, we now see one of a tang's favorite hobbies on display.

The assault of its own reflection.

No, he's in a separate system. Those two don't mix.

Ate some NLS pellets for the first time tonight, which is good.

No quarantine, but only tankmate so far is an indestructible bursa trigger. No signs of ich or parasites so far, knock wood.

Looks plump. I wish I could add a powder brown to my mix but I'm quite sure him and the powder blue would not survive together successfully. It's a shame all the most gorgeous fish hate each other.

Awesome Powder Brown!!!

Awesome Powder Brown!!!

I miss my Powder Brown Tang , you picked a great fish and I think they have better personalities compared to Powder Blues

Tripled the flow in the tank, did a nice hearty water change.... and the fish wakes up with ich this morning. That was a waste of salt.

A couple of spot free months and I thought I was out of the woods for this. Oh well, to hypo we go. At least it had a chance to get fat before getting sick.

Decided to take a wait and see approach on the hypo, the fish was clean when I got home from work and clean again today. I run UV on the tank, which I know doesn't cure ich but sure seems to help keep it at bay.
