Powder Brown Tang and Ich

I just bought what looked like a very healthy and active powder brown tang yesterday at my LFS. When I came home today he was ich'd out, which really isn't that uncommon. But what isn't common is I have never seen a fish with so much ich on it in my life. I mean the poor guy is covered everywhere. Usually when I get a new fish I might pre-treat them with Melafix, or if they have ich I'll hit them with Cupramine/copper. Honestly this guy is really freaking me out. Is maybe raising my SG and hitting with copper still my best bet here?

Also just a note that he is eating and very brave around me for a powder brown.
