Powerheads

I currently have 2 i believe 200 gph powerheads located in the 2 rear corners of my tank. I don't believe that these will be suffieient enough for flow. What power heads would you recommend as well as where to place them. Thanks

depending on what your keeping:

15x- 30x turn over rate so 15x turnover rate for your tank would be 1650gph and 30x would be 3300gph.
Tunzee has really nice pumps if you can get them, I would have them in my tank but in a 55gallon it would be a sand storm...

I'd second SEIO pumps, they move lots of water and draw alot less power when compared to other pumps. The only drawback they have is that you have to run them continuously, if you put them on wavemaker they might not start.

Thats what I ended up ordering for my 55, (2) SEIO 820, which is plenty of flow for my tank, and what ever I want to add to it I think.

I will jump on the Seio bandwagon. I have had 2 for over 2 years now and neither has ever locked up or failed to start, ever. Much more efficient than Maxijets, move more water for less watts and produce less heat. Plus the flow is more diffused so you don't blast your corals or sand bed. 8 watts for 620 GPH or 23 watts for 292 GPH.......No comparison. I do use smaller Maxijets for other purposes but not for movement in the display tank.
