If I am using this just as a prophylactic treatment, should I just dose once in the QT tank? I am just making sure my anthias do not have flukes before going into the DT. they've been in QT for a week now and seem really healthy :) just wondering if a second dose is needed if I don't believe there are any issues.

IME, one 5 day dose works just fine. I have used a second dose on a few fish that had lots of flukes, but that is unusual.

You should be ok with just one dose. I've used it in DT when acclimating new wrasses, so if you need to later, it's safe to use in DT (just turn off skimmer for duration of treatment).

cool thanks! looks like these guys will head to the DT after this treatment then! They'll have much more to eat in there :)

while we're on prazi, i just finished one five day treatment in the DT for worms-- I spotted them in one tang's poop, medicated, then all three of my large tangs voided HUGE amounts of worms about two-three days after treatment. I have not spotted any feces in the last day or so.
Did a good solid fuge cleaning and 25% water change today (and turned the protein skimmers back on, which both went crazy before the WC was done).
Should I do a second five-day treatment? Am reluctant to, just because I have to turn off the protein skimmers, remove carbon and other resins, and the tank gets.. well... that hard geen algae you have to scrape off.
But if a second course is needed to be sure the worms have been summarily dispensed with, I will do it. And spend the week mixing up another massive supply of saltwater.

I have heard if you do have flukes or worms it's a good idea to repeat the treatment after a large water change.

ah, well then. I will run the skimmers all day today and put in a second treatment this evening. and I guess I'll leave off putting the fresh chemipure elite in until the whole course is done...
.......sigh.......... i hate running the tank without skimmers.
thank you...:headwally:

the buildup of dissolved organic wastes, proteins, and the like in the water, that skimmers help prevent. as well, they tend to suck up bits of uneaten food that get through the overflow. They're an integral part of keeping my system's water as clean as I can get it.
I dosed a second round of Prazi and am also feeding Jungle Medicated Anti-Parasite food, the directions for which call for it to be fed three days out of seven for a month. Surfing around, I've noted some people feed nothing but for about three weeks. others have noted their fish just won't eat it. MIne seems to chomp it up quite happily.
I'm wondering if I should do it that way, as the tangs in particular are still voiding extremely wormy poop. and huge ones, at that (poops, that is. The worms are very thin, segmented, and translucent).
Meanwhile, I just realized this morning I have not seen the blood shrimp or my three cleaner shrimp in well over a week. The Prazipro may have done them in...
