I have a timer set to run the mixing pump a couple of times a day,
Has been running ~ 2 months with no issues.
The past couple of days - I have noticed a problem. When the mixing pump starts- the chamber seems to drain to the level of the pump inlet.
It seems that the water is somehow backflowing into my topoff reservoir.
Long term - I want to prevent this from happening again and want some clue as to what would trigger this.
I use the Tunze toppoff system - with the newer check valve.
The obvious problem spot is the check valve. This will get a good cleaning tonight. I assuming that is is stuck open somehow.
The level in the storage bucket seems to be higher than the reactor - so I do not think that it is a straight siphon. The mixing pump appears to have something to do with it (either a cause- or helps speed the backflow somehow).
At the moment - the topoff pump and the mixing pump can run at the same time - would this cause any issues?
Just looking for ideas on what else to look at.
thx
