would probably go with a nice hawkfish like a flecked or one of the other large hawkfish.
How a bout a small groupger ?
yellow tangs are always nice for a splash of colur and to keep the algea down.

i was thinking maybe a lunar wrasse ora nice valentini puffer or maybe even a tang or a metalic foxface. what do you guys think?

Yellow sunset wrasse?

Yellow sunset wrasse?

fwiw I've heard bad things about lunare's nipping at a lion's fins, but I've got a yellow sunset wrasse (thalassoma lutescens) in with my russel's lion and haven't had any problems.

In my opinion the sunset has better color than the lunare, and it is a VERY active fish.

th foxface woudl be the only on is this trio i would consider witha lion. the lunar wrasse is really active and gets fairly agressive, i would be concernd with it ****ing the lion off. the valentini will make quick work of those fins and turn them into nubs, even the venomous dorasl spines! the fox face will do fine, my only concern withthem is that they act like tools when you put your hand into the tank, and two venomous fish in one tank is one too many for me to keep track of.

A 90g has pretty good options for an aggressive tank. A planktonic trigger (male bluethroat) would be a nice addition. There are lots of eels that would work - snowflake, chainlink, zebra, Richardson's, etc. Hawkfishes are cool too, just make sure they aren't small enough to become food for the lion.

The zebra eel will out grow the 90 they get 4' plus. Mine is 24"-26" now and i have him in a 75 and a 90 is only 3" taller than a 75. Thats why i am going up to a 210 gallon tank.

It may, but it will take a long time. Eels are relatively slow growers, and even though they may get large (never seen a zebra over 30"), they really don't take up very much room per se. Bigger is always better, but IMO a zebra would be fine in a 90g for life. However, I do applaud you for upgrading to accomodate your fishes.
