Dave, thanks for the PAR meter.
For anyone interested, I have a Current USA Sundial fixture with a Radium 150W DE bulb and 2X32 PC actinics. With the bulb 6 inches above the water, here are some of the readings:
Just under the water directly under the bulb: 1200
6 inches under the the water directly under the bulb (my Oregon Torte is here): 800
At the bottom (16-17 inches under): approx 125-150
Also, with the bulb mounted side to side, the PAR drops off much more quickly front to back than side to side. For example, my Cali Torte is only 4 inches from the left side of the tank but is centered front to back- at the same depth as my other torte, PAR was still 600.
However, something centered side to side but slightly farther back or front is likely to have 400-500 PAR.
I'm going to test the Phoenix 14K later.
