Well, I have decided that I am taking no chances with my fish. I am one who has never Medicated any fish. And I have never had any issues.

Well, I have been reading (hearing) so many horror stories about fish and Ick/velvet/flukes/internal worms/etc.. I am starting to get freaked out. Well, not freaked out, but more cautious. Soo....
I am seriously considering doing some precautionary treatments to my tank. I have already decided to remove my sand bed, and along with it ALL inverts (snails, crabs, shrimp).

So, I will have not inverts to get in the way of medicating the system.

I dosed the tank with prazi last night, and I can tell that my snails are NOT happy. So I am going to cut treatment short, and start removing the sand bed and perform many water changes in the process.

I think once the sand and inverts are gone the first thing I am going to do is run the tank in Hyposalinity. I want to be sure that there is not any ICK in the tank. Once this is completed I think I will then treat with Prazi.

Again I have seen no visible signs of ICK or any other parasites, but I just want to be sure.

Any suggestions would be great.

Also, how do butterflies react to Hypo?

Hypo in the display will kill all of the algea on your rock in your main tank which could cause an ammonia spike. You should not be doing hypo on the main tank unless you see the ich as hypo is not without risk. Ph is not easy to keep right with hypo and if the salinity is too low it can harm the fish, too high and the ich which you say you don't see won't die. Do you remember the old saying "If it ain't broke don't fix it" ?? You may be making a problem where you had none. Lesley
