Probiotic salt and mixing station question

Piper27

I love bengals
I have a large mixing station setup and it's not possible to empty every last bit of water after mixing and water change is complete. Is the small amount (3 or so gallons) of probiotic reef salt going to turn my next batch of saltwater anerobic or bad?
My process for water changes is mix and change, then I start the refill right away and when full enough (12 hours later) I turn the recirculation pump back on. Will this be enough to keep my next mix from going bad?
I can not use this salt if the mixing tub needs to be dry in between waterchanges. It would be hard to make my mixing station so that it could drain all the water since most fittings and gaskets would block the water from rolling out and keep maybe one inch of water sitting leftover for the next mix.
My system is around 400 gallons and the mixing station is 150 gallons total.

Also you say in the guide to not use vodka and vinegar method with your system. But I am guessing if I was not using any of your bio products it would be ok for me to use your salt, elements, and metals with the vodka and vinegar gear method right?

Thanks in advance for any help. I am looking forward to growing out this next batch of frags in my new tank and with some of your prouducts.

Not ideal but you could use an aqualifter to get the remainder out.

Currently I am using vinegar because -NP-Pro is not available on Amazon and Pro-bio F is sold out.... I am using both the Prtobiotic salt and Pro-Bio S.
So long as you're not using either -NP-Pro or Pro Bio F your own carbon dosing scheme is fine and not redundant.

I figured that was the deal, thanks!

The problem is that I can not reach the bottom of the tank to make sure it's all cleaned out. I have been trying to think of a way to plumb something to it that will do the job but it seems like too much...
.
Any big tank owners have a solution? I am not going back to mixing in trashcans :(

I use a denitrator which is a form of carbon dosing. I use method lll-Aquarium with LPS and not demanding SPS (check AF guide) plus zeolites, carbon and phosphate minus.

Hi,
I am doing water changes like You says.
But I have 420L tank ( 110 US gal.) and mixing station 80L ( 21 US gal).
I am using Probiotic Reef Salt and sometimes water sit leftover ( maybe 1 US gal.) and waiting for next water change:)
Here is Thread of my tank: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2338895&page=18

I love your tank, that's what got me interested in this prouduct. You have such bold rich colors. Thanks for sharing your thoughts it really helps. I really want to use this probiotic salt so I would love an answer from aquaforest. The ratio of water left over for you is close to mine now that I think about it. How long does your leftover water sit until you get it moving with a pump?
