Problems with aquasurf

Im using an aquasurf with my tunze 6215 wavebox, and its been working great for a while now, but lately I come in and the pump is just on, or its pulsing very slowly. I try manually turning it off and on, unplugging it, rearranging the data cables and it keeps doing it.

Any ideas?

It sounds like your profiles are not correct but a few things to try just to be sure it is being controlled correctly...

* If you set manual off to the AquaSurf port does it turn the pump off?
* Same question for ON; does the pump turn full on?

Have you cleaned the pumps lately? When they get dirty the shaft can build up friction and cause all kinds of issues.

What are the LEDs on the AquaSurf doing; they should flash in time with the pump high/low cycle.

I tried setting the pump to on and yes it does come on, but then when I put it on manual off it will be off but then still sometimes comes on.

I just cleaned the pump 2 weeks ago and its still doing the same thing.

The LED on the aquasurf shows the same activity thats going on with the pump, always on or on to long with the bad timing.

The code for the aquasurf is :

If Time > 00:00 Then TZ2 OFF
If Time > 06:00 Then TZ2 PF1
If Time > 09:00 Then TZ2 PF2
If Time > 12:00 Then TZ2 PF1
Pmp MODE SD for PF1
Pmp Int 000/030 for PF1
Pmp OSC 09/09/00 for PF1
Pmp MODE SD for PF2
Pmp Int 000/090 for PF2
Pmp OSC 09/09/00 for PF2

I tried setting the pump to on and yes it does come on, but then when I put it on manual off it will be off but then still sometimes comes on.

Do you mean it turns ON or that it 'burps' on? Even a pump turned off will burp; this is to keep snails and fish from making the pump a home.
If you look at the status screen it will report what profile that the pump thinks it is running; can you provider that information and the details of the profile in question?
There is 1 more thing; I've seen the AquaSurf get out of sync with program and disconnecting the AquaSurf so that it powers down and reconnecting can force the AquaSurf to refresh the program.

I would guess its is De-syncing.

I disconnected the power to it for a few hours and rebooted the head unit and it was working fine for over a week, and then the it started getting suck on again. Only this time when I try to do a manual control on or off it seems to stay stuck on unless I disconnect the power to the AS again. And then when I reconnect it, it will either stick on or the timing is out of whack.

It seems like I have to keep it disconnected for a day and reboot everything about every week or two right now and that is not acceptable.

Try trplacing the control cable; it could be a random connection to the AquaSurf. If that doesn't address the problem then it is possible the AquaSurf has a problem but to diagnose that you should contact Neptune and get their opinion.
