I have a new (less than two weeks in the tank) Paracheilinus cyaneus. I also have two unidentified fairy wrasse females that he quickly became dominant over. However, he is bullied by my royal gramma. Two times in the past couple days, he will show white spots on his pectoral fins as well as on his flank near the lateral line. They normally appear during the end of the day, and he looks like he is very tired, but in the morning, he is free of the white spots and looks good again. Are these simply bubbles and since I see them, I think that he looks tired, or does ich come and go like this?
I know I should quarantine all new fish, but I simply don't have the room. All fish I buy are observed carefully prior to purchase to ensure that I am getting the healthiest fish possible before adding them to my tank. While this is not an exact science, it is all that I have to work with at this time.
