Problems With Zoanthids Opening

I just got some new zoas a few days ago and they aren't opening...they usually do...just not this time. I'm assuming its my high SG...it just read as 1.032...should I take it to 1.026??

My tank volume is 29 gallons. I'm thinking maybe once (maybe twice??) a day taking out 1 gallon of water and adding 1 gallon of freshwater?

Yes get it down. Maybe in two increments over 24 hrs

Replaced 2 gallons with freshwater yesterday and this morning. I am down to 1.029

How did your SG get so high?

I gradually raised it to experiment with it. Everything else does fine with the high SG....just zoanthids don't seem to like it.

if you slowly ramped up the salinity, everything has slowly adjusted to it. the new zoos you added could not adust to such high levels quickly and are probably stressed out. it is also possible evrything else is stressed by the high salinity but is coping for now. get the salinity down and hope for the best.
