Product Review: Instant Ocean Gel Food

I got a special deal from Dr Fosters on a package of this gel food last time I ordered. It came in a variety of types such as herbivore, omnivore, krill, and i believe one or two more types.
I got the herbivore due to the most of my fish are plant eaters and my yellow tang was hogging and guarding the sea weed I would put on the clips. The food comes prepackaged in small foil wrappers. Think of ketchup packets from Mc D's. they are one a sheet with and designed to be torn apart like old fashion stamps. One thing i learned is do not try to tear them apart. The perforations are not that good and I tore up 2 packets trying to do this. Make sure you cut them apart. Trust me.
As for how the fish like the food... They love it. I have not seen a feeding frenzy like that in my tank before. The food is bright green and if you squeeze the packet slow comes out in nice small bits. Another great thing is that the food does not sink straight to the bottom. It does eventually go to the bottom but takes a nice slow trip enabling all the fish a change of getting their fair share.
So overall i like this and will probably get more in the future. I have added it as part of my overall feedings.
Hope ya'll enjoyed the little review

I tried the pack that LiveAquaria sent me just because I had it. Look at the protein content. Your fish will actually starve to death eating it. Check around the forums. Most people agree that it's pretty much worthless.

I have found that if you have a serpent star, especially a green serpent star, it Will capitalize on it before anything else does.....it's a good thought though.

might be a good thing to mix with frozen food to help induce feeding on hard to feed fish. But, i agree, I don't see ANY nutritional benefit from this food
