program language prior to storm

i have the Aqua Illunination lights and also a red set of LED's inside my canopy. the red lights are connected to my EB-8 controlled by my Apex.
heres the tricky part... :spin2:
i want my red leds to pamp up 8 minutes prior to the lightning storm. then ramp back down over 5 minutes after the storm is over. i could set times, but if the storms happen randomly, i don't know how to get this to occur only at those times.

any input is appreciated.

i have realized that i wouldn't be able to ramp up/down using the EB-8. but could i delay the storm in the same manner as having pumps restart in sequence after feed mode? but actually delay the storm?

what i did for my led accent lights for my tank is wired up a buckpuck to them then then wired it up to my variable outputs on my apex...works great something like that might work for what you want, you can strobe the lights and fade in and out. i used regular led underglow lights for a car too
