pronouncing anemones

i went to a store and asked for a bta and he said "a what? then i said a bta bubble tip anemone , he said do you mean animinity i gues thats how u pronouce it what gives ? spelling and prounouncing is diffrent need to be schooled on that subject thanks

I once invited a fellow hobbyist over to see my tank, and he started talking about his 'ah-nih-moan' and I had no idea to what he was referring (for a while I thought he was mispronouncing 'animal')... I've always heard it pronounced 'ah-nem-oh-nee'. Your LFS is dead wrong IMO - animinity isn't a pronunciation I've ever heard before. My old LFS boss used to pronounce it 'ah-nen-o-mee' which drove me nuts - to me that's like saying nuc-U-lar rather than nuc-lee-ur.

Besides... your LFS should know what a BTA is anyway - shame on them!

I always thought Animinity was a place (Animinityville). Believe they made a movie about it. Some type of horror flick.
