Protein Skimmer collection cup

What does the stuff that foam up into the collection cup suppose to look like after it settles in the cup?

Well that depends how new your tank is. how long has this perticular skimmer been running and how heavy your tank is loaded. My is a dark green stinking mess from asm skimmer

It's about a year old. Basically I get foam that settles in the cup to look like a brownish tea. does this sound about right?
