Protein skimmer waste

While I was taking out the waste container in my skimmer, I accidently dropped a little of the waste back in the water Is this going to hurt my fish? Should I wait to add more fish? I planned on adding some tonight.

Shouldn't be serious. Just let the skimmer work it out overnight and it will pull out the most of the waste. Been there, done that. IME

By "just a little", what do you mean? Also, what size tank do you have.

I would think that if you acclimate your fish, they should be fine. If your skimmer is still shut down from the cleaning, get it back and running asap.

It's on. It's a 60 gallon tank, and the container accidently dripped over. Not much. Sounds funny, but I'll compare the cap of a two-liter bottle. About 2, maybe 3 caps fell in.

When I was cycling my tank, I went on vacation....bad timing!! I came back and the house reeked and I noticed my skimmer has overflowed and foam was all over my sump/skimmer.....everything still survived. Live and learn...

Considering that stuff was in the water to begin with, you should be fine.
