high everyone I'm having a issue with my skimmer it a vertex 150 and I can not get it to run right one day it works great produces a great skim mate the next day its not doing anything or it running over and dumping all of the skim back into the tank I have had it running for just over 2 years and battle with from day one I'm at my wits end can anyone help

Have you taken it apart and cleaned the pump parts and venturi?

Is it sitting in a consistent water level?

2x previous posts is what I would also do. Give it a good clean and make sure your air line for the venturi is not clogged and running wide open. The 2nd thing is to make sure you have a ATO , or that the chamber the skimmer is in does not have variable water level.

it sets in a 7.5 inches of I have a ATO and I clean it at the frist of every month

Sometimes when I dose my tank it will change the surface tension of the water causing my skimmer to foam less or more. It will do it when I feed also. Are you feeding large amounts of food or dosing large amounts at once?

i feed the bare min the doseing I even stoped for awhile to see if that was it. nothing seems to work

Does it have a valve on the water return of the skimmer? If not you could try piping in a quality gate valve and setting the level inside the skimmer with it. Have you taken apart the motor and cleaned it thoroughly? Maybe the impeller is bound a little?
