I have a thin film on top of my water. Do i have high protein in the tank and not enough flow?

What's your overflow box setup like? Without surface skimming, a film will stay on the surface.

corner overflow with surface skimming. My return and wave maker are on the same side. I should have flow from both side of the tank right? To break up and push around the surface water
