Greetings kids, and I welcome you to Psim's haus of bargains.
Why the Haus? Don't focus, on that, focus on the BARGAINS!
Everything here except where noted is in working order, but will be scratch and dent as well.. it IS used stuff and that tends to happen in this hobby. This is actually just the first installment of stuff I'm going to be selling so be sure to check back soon!
Couple notes on all this stuff is that it is currently located in Maricopa. Don't wanna drive that far? No problem! With the exception of one or two items that I simply CAN'T transport myself, I'm willing to deliver it to you for a paltry sum of $5 per person (just to cover gas - it'll actually take me $5 to get to Phoenix and back, so I'm actually doing this at a loss).
Two other things - if you're interested, contact me through PM and I'll work out the details with you. I hate calling 50 different people, so it will largely go as such: Person contacts me through PM -> I respond with my phone number saying you've got the item -> You call me and tell me where I'm going (or if you're coming to me). Beyond that, note that the prices I'm listing here are pretty darned low, so I'm pretty much firm on the pricing.
"But PSIM!" you might say. "These are some decent deals, but where are the BARGAINS?!" Well, first I'll look at you wondering why you think I'm Vince Offer. Then I'll simply say that most items here are not only low in price, but will include freebees where I can arrange them.
So let's take a look at what I got.
First up: Octopus Needlewheel Recirc 110 (DNW-110) - $100
Rated for 125 gallons or more, this skimmer is pretty dang studly. I'd still be using it if not for the fact that well.. I'm not running a tank large enough for it anymore. The other catch to it is that it took a bit of a ding when I moved. The outlet fitting for the needlewheel pump broke when I stupidly picked up the skimmer by the pump. If you can find an outlet fitting, this skimmer will be ready to go. Marine solutions may or may not still sell them. I don't honestly know. If not, you'll need a new pump (model # OTP-1000) for about $45.
Freebees: Includes feed plumbing (including adjustable gate valve), and Maxi-Jet 400 feed pump.
Next: A pair of 20" Current USA Sunpod 150W MH fixtures. $150 each or $250 for the pair.
Pretty self explanatory. These guys have about 2 months use on them. I REALLY didn't want to stop using them, but when I was living in my small apartment, they were causing way too much evaporation off my previous tank. This caused a huge amount of water vapor in my apartment in the winter (as I was no longer using the A/C system to remove the water out of the air). This caused a mold explosion. They will include their mounting hardware (they're actually best when mounted into a canopy, but can be pendant mounted as well - they didn't include the stands when new in box, so you'd have to find one if you're looking for that type).
The actual fixtures themselves also include a Moonlight LED array on each fixture in white and blue for color spectrum optimization. The bulbs themselves are Current USA 14K bulbs. While not as nice looking as a Phoenix 14k bulb, they're still very nice. These are REALLY good fixtures that I could sell on Ebay for $200 right now. I just don't want the hassle of packing and shipping. Believe me when I say these lights are good stuff. If you want a fully self-contained MH fixture with no external ballast or anything else, these are the ones.
Freebees? Well.. in this case, I'm sorry but there aren't any. I don't really have anything to go with this light, so I dropped the price down lower.
Next: Odyssea 150W Double Ended MH fixture with external magnetic ballast, 2x 24W 7k bulb and blue LED moonlamp array - $60
I'm not going to mince words about this one. People who have their opinions on Oddysea lights will have their opinions. I will say that this is actually 2nd generation Oddysea MH stuff, so this doesn't suffer the fire danger that the first generation seemed to have. I bought this guy back when I was pretty new at reef keeping and used it for about 3 months on my 29G before I figured out I was sunburning the heck out of my corals. In the time I used it, I was pretty happy with it. The only thing I never could figure out the hanging system, so some sort of rigging will be necessary. But seriously - it's a full spectrum MH for $60. If you ever wanted to try MH out to see how you'd like it, this is your fixture.
Freebees.. come on - it's $60.
Red Sea Wavemaster Pro 4 outlet system - $70
This one is pretty self explanatory as well. It's a wavemaker. It has multiple settings for adjustable turbulence. THE CATCH: the switch to turn pump #4 into a main pump outlet got stuck and I can't get it back into pump #4 configuration. This never bothered me as I always used it as a main pump system anyway (essentially, it's always on), but it might bum someone out. Hence the discount.
Freebees: three free (used) Maxi-Jet Pumps, MJ1200x2 and MJ600x1 - enough to get you going on your wavemaking experience.
Generic two-chamber chained media reactor system - $50
I used this as a water polishing system in which I ran carbon and a phosphate absorber. It worked out really well and I had a strong increase in water clarity and a drop in phosphate. They are chained together to run in a sequence, but with some tubing, and another pump you could probably run them separately.
Freebees: This is actually a pretty solid deal. In addition to the reactors, and the tubing necessary to chain them, I'm also including a minijet pump that will provide the perfect amount of flow through the reactors. I'm also including a small amount of phosphate absorber (in addition to a small filter media bag to make it easier to extract the phosphate media), and a LARGE amoung of Marineland Black Diamond carbon media (about 75% of a 3.65L container).
That's it for now. Coming soon: Mated pair of hosting Black/white Ocellaris clownfish ($50), Good size blue Hammer coral ($20), Sapphire Aquatics Protein Skimmer designed for NC12/BC14 ($60), Modded Biocube 14G with stand ($100), 90G Tank/Stand/Canopy/Acrylic Sump ($125). They'll go up as soon as I have time to take pictures of them.
