im currently running a 90BB SPS with a few euphillia and a yellow fiji toadstool. i have no crabs but i do have a pair of skunk cleaners and brittlestars.

The people who keep the Canthigaster sp. in reef tanks are those who don't mind things getting picked on. Just because it "worked" for a few people, it most likely won't work the majority.

You should look at the regular diet of C. valentini. IME, they will eat coral and crustaceans, while draining your tank of beneficial 'pods and polychaetes.

Mine really likes my Millepora but more or less leaves my other corals alone. Once in a while he bites an acro top off but so far the acro grows faster than what my valentini bites off. Actually it's even so that when the tip of the acro is bitten it splits and turns into many more branches than it would otherwise have done, thus forming a thicker acro colony.

I kept a Canthigaster solandri in my reef and really ejoyed this fish. When stressed or new to the tank they will likely nip fins of other fish, and although mine did this he otherwise was a model citizen never chasing or picking on a single fish. Mine also never nipped corals. What you need to be more worried about than your corals is your crabs, snails, and shrimp. These are very curious (read: hungry) fish that are smart enough to knock over shelled crustaceans so that they can eat them. Long story short...brittlestars will be OK, shrimp are likely to be eaten IME.
