I am posting these pictures to show you what happened to my puffer within months of introducing to my fowlr tank. I was told each time it was a bacterial infection. Each time it ate away starting at the face going back to the tail. by time it get half way down the body it dies. One eye always swell up and cloud.

I have added a puffer 4 different times to the same tank and this ends up happening. Each time it ended in death. I didn't have a qt tank as I do now. All of the other fish that have scales was not affected each time only the puffer.
I am wanting to try a puffer again but kinda scared. I dont want to keep killing them so my question is. Is there something in my system that keep causing this? Is there something that I need to treat my tank for scaleless fish? I just added a uv sterilizer and right now the tank is empty. The only thing i just remember that is in the tank is a snail. Please help me. My filter system is a big bio ball sump. Although I have thought about getting rid of the bio balls and running live rocks. Advice please!!
