Hi. Any recommendations on where to find Pukani rock (dry)? Am I better off checking with a local fish store or the internet? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Fiji has been closed for export for a while now, so the only pukani you will find now is stock that has been in country for a while. This means slim to none. Best hope is finding someone trustworthy that's taking a tank down.
There's only one place I know of to possibly get it and it's super expensive. https://tbsaltwater.com
I could be wrong but it's my understanding that a lot of the live rock that they have out in the ocean is Pukani still.
TBS has great live rock, but it is originally sourced from the Bahamas. There is no way Florida would have let them dump Fiji rock in local waters, it could be an ecological nightmare if. Their dry pukani stock is gone.

Well I had called them about a year ago cuz I was thinking of buying something at that time the lady that I talked to said that there was Pukani out there but she had a really bad accent and she might have been yessing me because she didn't understand what I was asking. I'm sure you're right about putting live pukani rock in the ocean there that would be a cross-contamination ecological nightmare but I don't see how putting dry Rock of any kind would be a problem dry rock is dry Rock it's basically the same other than what shape and porosity it comes in excluding all the concrete out there that people claim is Rock. I may try calling them again this week though cuz I'm thinking about seeding my next tank with that just to see how it goes.
