I have a sps tank and i got a 2.5 inch maxima, Its has grown atleast a half an inch since i had it 2 mos ago from under 2 inches. Is that too slow? Its getting great light its 12 inches under one of my 400 watt my MH.
Now i wont dump photo in the tank i have sps and everytime i have its only caused green algae on the walls.
Now i have never fed this clam, and its getting food from somewhere in the tank because it has grown a half an inch. It looks great it has colored up really well, and it does not gape. The mouth is tight. Its open up fully al the time except dusk daw, and lights off.
Now do i need to target feed it (I am hoping not because i hate to stresit out by doing so), The only way i will do that is out of tank, and i know clams are not too keen on being moved.
Is it close enough of size where i just leave it, and the light feed it enough? I have started skimming aggressivly the past 2 weeks with a new larger skimmer.
