Pulse mode loud

I have a MP60 and MP40 on my 180 6-foot tank and I really want to use the short pulse mode but the motor is really loud when it ramps up. When I have it on reef crust mode they both are quitter (surprisingly the MP60 is quitter all the way around). Could the bearings be bad? I don't hear the same noise on reef crest when the pumps are at a stronger flow.

Any other ideas on what is causing the loud ramping? I know its not from bad alignment because on other modes they are silent and again I hear the noise from the dry side. Thanks in advance

Bam,

I would recommend ensuring both wetsides are clean and spinning freely. In many cases a dirty wetside can create more noise especially when in pulse modes.

Mine do it two, it sound like when you are sawing a piece of wood of wood or something, with the saw going back and forth
