Pulsing Xenia a viable host

When my tank comes out of cycle I want to make sure I don't just toss my clownfish in there with nothing to host in. Is a Pulsing Xenia a viable option until I am comfortable enough to attempt a BTA?

Some people have a hard time keeping xenia alive while others say that its one of the easiest corals to keep, that grows fast and is easy to propagate. The choice is yours.

Keep in mind though that some clownfish can be very picky about what they host in, so they might not even host in it. Good luck!

there is no reason you cant have clownfish without something for them to host they will host a rock just as quickly as a xenia

I agree GSMguy, I use to have many clownfish in just tanks no hosts. Never had a problem. But they do look better/natural in a host.

Thanks for the tips everybody. Lord knows we don't need another SW noob running around killing Nems faster then they can be harvested. I think I will do some more research on different host possibilities. Has anybody tried any of the "realistic" fake anemones. I personally am not thrilled with the look of them, however if my little clownies get a kick out of it, why not.
