Pump/Controller Question

I just bought two tunze 6000 to go with my 6055's and the 7095 multicontroller. Wow,the 6000 really puts out some flow. The tank is 48x24x24. I started by turning the driver down to its lowest setting to decrease flow and also turned down the flow on the multicontroller. How do I judge the correct amount of flow. I put the two 6000's in the back upper corners and the 6055's closer to the front a little lower.

Thanks Bob

Congrats on a great decision. The tunze's are my coral's favorite peice of equipment.

If you use interval 2 and have them on a shorter pulse you won't have any problems. I would set them at a lower output say 30% min and max 50%. See how the corals respond and gradually turn them up in a month or so. As long as the corals arent being hit with direct flow, they'll be fine.

This seems like a lot of flow for a 120 though. You'll probably never need to turn them up past 50%.

I would try staggering the 2 channels by putting one pump from each side on the same channel so that the currents collide and cause a more turbulent/ chaotic flow pattern.

If you're using the 7095, you shouldn't dail back the drivers. You use the 7095 to do it.

Thanks,Will do. The reason I added the two 6000's was the 6055's just wasn;t enough for a 120.

Thanks Bob
