Pump noise bad for fish?

I'll be blunt, when I place my ear against the tank...it sounds like there is a supertanker passing over my little patch of the ocean...Continuously.

Is this a bad thing for my fish and coral?

It shouldn't be a problem. Fish don't seem to mind steading noises. Corals won't know any difference. It's that loud and sudden noises that stress out fish.
