Pump Question

I getting ready to upgrade from a 100 to a 180 with 100 gallon sump. Will put sump in basment and plumb to my den. SPS only with a few fish.

Will be teeing off to MRC-2 skimmer. Not a closed system and I have 2 tunzes for circulation.

What is a very dependable pump to put in the basement, what size. I have more than enough flow from the tunzes. Want something dependable.

Thanks

I've been using a Sequence Hammerhead for a few years non stop with no problems. Iwaki pressure pumps are pretty bullet proof also.

Sequence Hammerhead... Hands down. I use two as returns for my system and you can t them off to run anything else you may need in the basement.

With an SPS system you are going to probably have a calcium reactor, kalk, phosban, carbon, and the skimmer. All can be fed by the hammerhead and still have enough power to return.

I feed all those and UV with mine and still return up to my 500 14ft vertical and maybe 30ft horizontal.

Sequence hammer head seems like the way to go. Thanks. Now all I have to do is convince my wife that I need another "$150 dollar pump" Hope she never finds me out or I'll owe her quite a bit of jewelry.

I am in the planning/purchase stage for a 75 gallon FOWLR tank at this time. What is the consensus on the Pentair Quiet One 3000 780 GPH pump? This tank is drilled with a single overflow in the corner. Right now, my wet/dry and sump is going to be a Tidepool II with the Pentair running externally via a bulkhead connection. First time posting, any feedback will be great. Thanks!!

[welcome]

I have no experience with that pump, but I would say to buy the best pump you can afford. Not the biggest, just a pump that will last a long time. Iwaki and Sequence both make smaller pumps, but the Sequence pumps run pretty silent compared to the Iwaki.
