pump question

can I use a dolphin 3000 pump in a 3/4 inch return? The pumps discharge is 1 1/2 inches. Will it mess the pump us if I reduce the discharge?

It will not mess up the pump - but you will not get anywhere near the flow from it that you should. As well, the pump may run a little warmer because of the restriction.
