Pump suitable for DIY euroreef?

My attempt to add a venturi to my pond pump didn't work out well so now I need a good pump for 6" "euroreef".

I have a Rio 2100. Will that have enough bubbles and power?
Any other suggestions?

get a good cheap needlewheel so youll have a good skimmer.

venturi + needlewheel

venturi alone is weak [larger+less bubbles]

thereefstop.com has some good prices for gen-x pumps

What is considered a good needlewheel?

The pond pump has the bioball mod to the impeller but the bubbles are still large and few.

ETA - Just checked out thereefstop.com. What is the minimum Gen-X pump I would need to power the skimmer.

Or do you think I would get comparable performance with a new needlewheel (400 GPH pump)?

The Gen-X 2400 NW would be great for what you're doing....
