purple hornets

Anyone have any luck with purple hornets in their system? I know with blue hornets alot of people claim they simply melt away after a week or two. I have the opportunity to pick some purple hornets up and would appreciate any feedback

I got one polyp in January... I've traded away two polyps and currently have 8. I get about a polyp per month.

i had some of them as well. i started with a 2 polyp frag and i got anywhere from 1-2 polyps a month. i had them for about 6 months or so until my tank crashed and they were going strong until that point. i also had the blue hornets wich honestly were abit faster growing and i never had a problem with them either until the tank crash.

By the way, what's a good price on Purple Hornets? I've seen them go for $100-$200 per polyp.

What temperature do you run your tank?

THey were going for 50 a polpy at macna, whether that was cheap or not, there was some nice frags...

$50-$75 a polyp is the best I have found and I have been looking for awhile.

Where did you place them in your tank and what was your temp if you remember. I will assume other tank parameters were in check.

the tempature of my tank has always been around 78-80 all year long. when i had them they were in the upper portion of my tank about 8-10" directly under 2 39w HO T5's and off to the side of my 150w halide. they were also in decent flow.

also all my parameter were in check until the tank crashed. wich was actually my fault.
