Purple looking slug thing

Hey Everyone, So I just looked at my tank, and looked at my hammer, and saw what I thought to be a purple spong on it like the others in my tank... then it moved...

So I yank my hammer out of the tank and scrape this thing off... I would take a picture, but it has a huge gash on its back where I tried to push it off of the rock.

But all i can say is its about 1/4-1/2 inch long dark purple on top... whiteish on bottom and seems to have two antennas.

Ive been having a problem with my red people eaters dieing, and another unkown people eater not coming out for a few days now.

It does the wierdest thing too, when I shine my light on it... it closes the part where i left a gash in him.

Post a picture, gash and all, as it could be a few things. The only way we can tell you for sure if it is harmless or not is if you post a photo.

Are you sure you gashed it? Could be a scutus, which has a mantle that comes together in the center to cover a shell. When the mantle retracts for some reason, you can see the white underneath.
