I have recently acquired a friend's large Purple Nepthea Colony as he is moving into more SPS (Cheers Tom!). It is a large photosynthetic branching purple softie, but I cannot get an ID on it here in Tokyo beyond 'Nepthea sp'. I have attached an image (not my pic, and the one I have is more purple):
I thought most Nepthea were non-photosynthetic, this one very much is and a fairly good reproducer as well.
I've checked all the usual books, but not getting very far. Any help on ID gratefully received.
