Purple rim monti

could be wrong and i'm sure if i am someone will chime in but the purple is new growth i had a big colony i sold and kept a small frag and the purple went away an just came back recently when i noticed it was healing and starting to grow again. but like i said i could be wrong.
 
New growth... maybe I was not clear, actualy there is many warriations of that green montipora, and I also have another one green purple monti, but this one what I am talking about, when I got it purple layer was so thick almoust 1 cm...anyhow thx for tip.

because of reduced lighting and flow.. it was being held at a my lfs during a my tank upgrade. Have you changed your lights lately ? if not that could be the issue . how is your water quality? are you keeping up with water changes?
 
trigger thx for info, yes something like that, but yours look very bad.... flow is not reduced, but i have placed it near the bottom of the tank, i can't beleive that t5 can't keep her up on 50cm range... Water quality is good... i think :)
 
Check your alk ph and mag levels. Do you dose iodine? Iodine is important to blues, pinks and purples. Have you made any changes?
