Purple Short Tentacle Plate Coral

Anyone have experience with this one? I don't have MH lighting, but have 2x96 PC lighting over a 46 bowfront tank. Would it be a slow death and waste of money?

I have a green plate and an orange plate... They're voracious eaters, so I would assume that they'd do well under limited lighting, but thats just a guess since I have MH's... Do you have success with keeping any other LPS??? If so, I don't think it would be a problem keeping plates... :)

Right now I only have GSP. Limited budget makes for slow population. It's been up and running for over a year. How and what do you feed?

I feed mysis, shrimp pellets, copepods, really whatever I'm feeding my fish at the time... You can either use a turkey baster or, more often than not, I just take a pinch, reach down and whatever I'm feeding sticks to their tentacles... Its amazing how much they'll eat... lol

I don't feed mine at all and have had my orange cycloseris for 2-1/2 years and my fungia sp. almost as long under MH.

I have an orange one that turned purple and is now turning back orange. It is under MH lighting so I can't really comment on the lighting issue. I have very rarely fed mine, maybe 2 or 3 times in probably 3 years.

I have an orange one that I inherited from a friend that is mind boggling how bright it is. The orange is under MH and loves high flow of the BB. I also have a purple.white on that I bought a couple of weeks ago. It is under PC's and seems to be quite content. I feed them once a week of whatever I have left from the aggressive tank. I put pieces of shrimp, squid, clam... They seem to love it. Instead of just placing it in the tentacles I actually poke it into the mouth. It is quite impressive to see them eat.

I have a Long Tentacle Plate Coral, I used to feed it twice a week until I got myself a new job, between the tanks and the animals got me tied up. Now I feed it every so often along with my candy, bubble, etc. I have mine under MH's. I do have to say it eats quite a bit when I feed.....After feeding, it looks beautiful under moon lights....:)

I have an orange one at work and he likes to eat mysis and krill but snatches Coral Frenzy or any fish food I put into the tank through the current. I feed him once a week and I have a metal halide.

ok. sounds like everyone has MH. I will wait until i can one day afford the upgrade to MH lighting. Thanks for all of the input.
