my tank crashed the other day...i lost all my LPS corals...90% of my softies made it through though...however i just noticed this today..my purple xenia Cespitualria sp. is turning white at the bottom and seems to be releasing from teh rocks...should i could the stalks off above this whiteness and net them to some rubble...it is weird i have never seen this before with a softy it looks like STN in a SPS coral, the base is bleach white..

anyone else?

i have to wait until tomorrow to do anything, as i was working on my truck all day and i cant get the ground in grease and dirt off my hands and dont want to stick them in my tank...

anyone know what the white is? is it STN?

I agree fragging above the white is your best bet. Might just be bleaching from the stress of a crash? Not sure.

definitely not bleaching...whole colony is gone now....i fragged it and it still withered away to nothing, the white death took it...i now have one tiny frag left that i made quite some time ago on a frag plug...but it doesnt look good either..
