PVC Primer and Glue Question

I had a few drops of primer drip inside the pipe I was glueing. It will be in contact with water (in a few more days). Is this OK, or is this piece a re-do?

Secondly, I read the "PVC tutorial" which said "never use purple primer. (ugly)" Is this guy for real....That's all Home Depot carries, and I've seen it in a hundred photos posted on Reef Central. What's up with that?

purple prime is fine, don't worry about spilling some in pipe it dries in a couple minutes.
