QT clean up?

Ok how do you sterilize a QT?

I need to clean my QT and get it ready for restocking my DT. Sick fish in QT sadly passed away yesterday. I was never able to ID what the fish had? Brook / Velvet? Either way I need to keep my DT fallow for 10 weeks? Please confirm??

I thought letting all material dry out was enough but am reading that everyone is using bleach?? I have never used any soaps / products inside of my tanks b/4? But this is also my first mass die off?

What do I do with my HOB filter and media? Throw all media away?? How do I clean my glass and tank? What do I do with my buckets of water? I am even nervous about my test kit tubes? How do I sterilize them? My nets? My PVC tubes?

I was thinking of putting all items that would fit in my dishwasher on the sterilize setting? Would that do it? Still leaves the tank and buckets?

I clean my QTs with vinegar, rinse, and then let dry thoroughly before the next fish comes in. The dry thoroughly part is what probably eliminates the possibility of any disease transmission.

Here's what I do...and I've done this more in the last year than I care to count. Drain the tank and residual water from HOB. I throw everything QT related, thermometers, PVC, air stones of power head, feeding utensil, etc. into the QT. Fill up with hot water and add non scented bleach. Don't use boiling hot water because it can compromise the silicone. Hang the filter on the tank and turn it on. Toss the filter media. Let the tank sit for a few hours. I use the siphon that I cleaned the QT with to drain the water out. Fill up with freshwater and repeat the procedure. I then drain the tank, give everything a good rinse and make sure there is no bleach smell to anything. Then let it air dry.
There may be easier ways and my way may be overkill but I've dealt with way too many nasties lately and I'm not taking any chances:)
