QT quick question

Using a 15 gallon plastic container with locking top for my QT.
I drilled a bunch of holes in the lid to allow for oxygen. About 80 holes altogether. Is this sufficient or do I need more openings?

Pics not the greatest but there are 4 holes in each square section and about 30 more around the rim.

The lid will work. I'm just wondering if the box is like the lid, opaque? If so how will you observe the live stock to be sure they are not sick?

5 or 10 gallon glass QT would serve you better....say 15 or 20 bucks?
You can use it over and over forever....

Unless the glass breaks while stored in between uses.
One of the reasons I opted for plastic.
The container itself is much more see through than the lid.
Another reason I opted for the plastic is the lock on lid. I don't have a great place to keep the QT tank and I need to keep my cats from reaching in and helping themselves!

Add a airstone/sponge filter and you are good to go.

The main reason the airstone is SO important is for O2 exchange.

Effectively, you need the surface of the water moving in order to promote air exchange.

An airstone has a pump outside of the tank that pumps through an airhose line, and that water is dispersed. Its not the bubbles that help, its the surface agitation caused by them popping that helps increase air exchange in the tank.

If you could get a small powerhead in there, it'd help too. Koralio nano or something of the sort. But it might be a bit much in a container like that.

No. As long as you have surface movement gas exchange will happen
