I have a 210 reef that I setup about 1 year ago. After some unfortunate series of events I lost a couple fish from a ich outbreak.
I have since setup a QT and moved my current stock to the QT hospital setup. I have a 29g QT with 1 4" blue hippo and 1 small 6 stripe wrasse and a goby and 1 1" chromis.
4 fish
I've had most of the fish in the QT for about 6 weeks and everything has been going well. The odd thing is I had 0 signs of ich in the DT for about 1 month since I lost the last fish. I did add a UV to the DT and the 210 DT only had those 4 little fish for about a month. I decided to move all of the fish to the QT anyway and treat before trying to add to the DT.
All of a sudden after about 6 weeks in the QT the blue hippo is rubbing his side against some rock and now the last couple days not wanting to eat and generally he eats very well. I still can not see any signs of ich or spots on him. I did have a devider in the tank I made and was wondering if maybe he scratched himself. I can take a picture of him when I get home if he will let me (lol). He looks good but now im concerned about his eating any ideas on what to look for or try. Im keeping the copper level a little below .5 ppm and I spent a week getting it to that level not over 2 days. Also the copper has only been in the water for roughly a week of the 6 weeks.
