Qt tank help urgent

Hi guys/girls

I've been doing my research on a qt tank and how to setup etc and just wanna ask before I start it today reasons for needing it is white spot I lost a clown a few days ago and now it looks like my other clown is showing similar problems

So the only tank I have available is a 46l fluval edge

My plan
23l out of display tank 23l new water
Hang on back filter with floss that's been running in my main tank for a week ( gonna rinse out the floss every week )
Air line in
Bare tank

Now water changes do I add water from my main tank or new water ( read different things? )

What's the best thing to use to get rid of white spot
And how long should I keep them out?

Ps my sulphur goby trap hasn't worked God knows how I'll get him out gonna strip down my tank I think

Your DT needs to sit fallow for 72 days. Because the DT has been exposed, water changes need to come from an unexplored source. For treatment assuming this is in fact ich, I would recommend TTM in two 10g tanks and then use the fluval for observation until fallow period has ended.

Very first thing you need to do is identify the problem. Different treatments are needed for different parasites. Using water from your DT is a NO NO since its infected. New saltwater is fine as long as the salinity and temperature match your DT.

If you just got the clown and it died fairly quickly, its probably not ich!!
